Job Description

Senior Maintenance Technician

Overview

The Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for helping to maintain the Gilead facility and the various equipment and systems that enable us to operate. Emphasis on Boiler and auxiliary subsystems.

*This position is second shift working 2-10pm Monday through Friday. Additional weekend work as needed*

Essential Job Functions

  • Installs, maintains, and repairs un-classified and classified room infrastructure; walls, doors, floors, and fixtures for boilers, air conditioning, water and steam systems.

  • Inspects areas, equipment, and other related labelling requirements to meet cGMP regulations. Performing minor construction and upkeep activities.

  • Operates hand and power tools, meters, pumps, etc.

  • Provide oversight of contractors when necessary ensuring all reports provided meet minimum GDP requirements and attachment to official documentation.

  • Completes work orders and other building maintenance in multiple buildings.

  • Troubleshoot and repair a variety of GxP equipment and provide front line EMS alarm support to resolution through proper documentation practices.

  • Follows all SOPs and safety rules, including the use of personal protective equipment.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to problem-solve to correct building system problems and provide alternative solutions

  • Ability to navigate and work in a gowned environment for GMP work and document properly using GDP.

  • Ability to interface with a variety of customers inside GMP and office areas.

  • Proven ability to multi-task with attention to detail and work independently.

  • Familiarity with blueprints and schematics a plus.

Education and Experience

  • A valid NJ black Seal High Pressure Boiler License. Refrigeration License preferred.

  • Educational background normally equivalent to a High School education with apprenticeship, or course work in skilled trades and at least 5 years of relevant work experience in building maintenance of HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, electric, and carpentry.

  • Experience with water purification systems is highly valued.

  • Additional relevant licenses and certifications will be a plus.
