Job Description

We are seeking the Controller for the Czech and Slovakia affiliate. The Controller will primarily support the Finance Director, and more broadly work with various teams in Financial Shared Services.

Essential Duties and Job Functions:

  • responsible for the timely and accurate review and posting of month-end close and accounting transaction, P&L and Balance sheet account analysis, review and reconciliation and resolution – cooperating with GSS team and local external provider

  • responsible for the timely and accurate preparation of the selected journal entries for the month-end close and accounting transaction and selected disclosures

  • works with FSS to ensure robust country-level Accounting, Controllership, Tax, Treasury and Procurement including robust financial controls and management of risks, facilitated by strong collaborative relationships

-Coordinate Local GAAP Year End Closing (incl. local GAAP adjustments) with local external provider

-Coordinate VAT returns and filings in cooperation with local external provider

-support localization aspects (incl. testing) for SAP implementation based on global design

  • ability to work índependently, interact successfully with non-financial personnel

Experience:

• BA or BS degree in accounting or equivalent with a CPA, CA or similar accounting qualification

• 8+ years of relevant experience

• Tax, Treasury and Financial Accounting experience required

• Experience in biotech or pharmaceutical industry a plus

• Experience in multi-national organization a plus

Knowledge/Skills:

• Knowledge of Oracle / SAP or equivalent ERP system and proficiency with Microsoft tools (Excel, Outlook, Word); knowledge of Blackline, OneSource, Tableau is an advantage

• Requires in-depth knowledge of generally accepted accounting policies and procedures

• Proficient in all aspects of accounting and finance, including technical aspects (Local GAAP and US GAAP)

• Excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively in a matrix organization with multiple functions, together with a positive attitude and strong work ethic

• Possess an open, transparent and inclusive approach to working with colleagues

• Ability to quickly establish credibility with diverse audiences and stakeholders

• Demonstrated success working in a deadline proven and multi-task environment

• Ability to take initiative, guide and influence others toward goal achievement
