Job Description

Kite, a Gilead Company, is a biopharmaceutical company focused on the development and commercialization of novel cancer immunotherapy products designed to harness the power of a patient’s own immune system to selectively target and kill cancer cells. We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join us as a Director Facilities Operations. Reporting to the Head of Kite Facility Operations, you will lead a diverse organization to develop short-term and longer-term objectives and plans in support of the Kite’s strategy. This role serves as a senior leader within the organization with the goal of ensuring the company has robust strategies that enable flexible, responsive and reliable operations and that leadership strategy faithfully translates into measurable value for the company and our patients.

Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

•Accountable for the facility organization supporting the Kite Research and Development Manufacturing Center.

Responsible for establishing a maintenance excellence program for all GMP and Non GMP process and utility equipment.

•Manages the calibration program for all GMP and Non GMP process and utility equipment

•Building the engineering support team to support GMP and Non GMP utility systems, Electrical, HVAC, BMS, EMS, Process Air, etc.

•Supports and manages deviations and investigations related to GMP utility systems

•Responsible for managing turn over packages from capital projects team to sustaining operations.

•Responsible for coordination of construction activities within the property related to both tenant improvements and owner-initiated construction activities.

•Manage, Support and develop business cases for all CAPEx investments

•Create a recapitalization program for the facility and establish a 5 year master plan for CAPEx investments

•Communicates with Kite senior management on a regular basis and interfaces productively with the corporate departments.

•Manages core services such as business/operations services, e.g. grounds keeping, laundry service, food, security, inventory, mail and concierge services.

•Manages a safe and efficient working environment, essential to the performance of the business.

•Vendor and subcontractor oversight including participation in contract negotiations and pricing.

•Implementation of an Energy Management Program aligned to ISO50001

Requirements:

•BS degree in engineering or related field or equivalent experience required.

•10+ years of construction, facility maintenance and CAPEX project leadership is desired.

•A proven track record of successful facilities management leadership experience as demonstrated by articulated results and accomplishments.

•Strong technical knowledge of the following: mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and, safety systems.

•Demonstrated business and financial acumen with a strong P&L understanding.

•Exceptional customer service, relationship building and communication skills.

•Strong Leadership skills with a focus on staff development and team building.

•Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are essential.

•High energy level and a positive outlook coupled with the requisite "can do" attitude and a willingness to do what it takes to achieve personal and organizational goals and overcome obstacles.

•Ability to adapt in a constantly evolving environment

•Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership in areas of responsibility
